The
premiere season of 1999-2000 established a media and technology
studio known as WFHS TV at Fairmont Senior High School with instructor
and director Carol J. Amos. Through a generous grant to the Marion
County school system, WV legislative funds provided
opportunities for students to present daily announcements in a closed
circuit broadcast of news, sports, weather, and specials with highlights
from location filming of special events. Seneca Communications provided
technical advice and installation of digital Panasonic equipment
including cameras, video recorders, audio and video mixers, microphones,
and intercom system. Rick Amos completed technical design and construction
of lighting grids and sets in the summer of 2000. Jeff Creamer has
supplied technical assistance and website design and maintenance.
Senator Roman W. Prezioso was instrumental
in assisting with West Virginia State Funds. Mr. David R. Ice, cabinet
secretary of the Department of Education and the Arts, administered
the grant request.
